Custom Vinyl Stickers: Everything You Need to Know Before Ordering

Custom vinyl is the material. The sticker is still only as good as the shape you send.

A custom vinyl sticker is printed on vinyl, protected with a clear laminate, then cut to shape.

STICKERLY™ stickers use premium vinyl, solvent inks, a UV-resistant gloss laminate, and precision die-cutting. Sublime Slaps manufactures and ships them from Oregon.

What the laminate does

The laminate is the clear layer over the printed artwork. It helps protect the print from scratches, moisture, and UV exposure.

We use a gloss finish because it makes colors look brighter and gives the sticker a clean finished surface. Gloss can show fingerprints more easily than matte, but it also gives the print more contrast and shine.

Where vinyl stickers work best

Vinyl stickers work best on smooth, clean surfaces such as:

  • laptops
  • water bottles
  • phone cases
  • windows
  • toolboxes
  • vehicles

They are designed to handle normal exposure to water, sunlight, and outdoor conditions.

That does not make them indestructible. Edges can still lift on heavily textured surfaces, flexible materials, or designs with very thin protruding sections.

Regular exposure to harsh elements will take it’s toll over time, our premium materials are designed to prolong the stickers life as much as possible.
